How do you create the big picture for your projects or teams? If the big picture is missing, you are not alone but you are probably struggling. Collaborative chartering is a simple but powerful tool that bonds communities around "why they are building what they are building. Known to many project managers, but unknown to many agile teams, chartering builds the large context around product, community and a delivery cadence just to name a few. If you are looking to augment or replace kick off sessions, drop in and learn concretely how to get started in a valuable direction.

David Hussman

Founder, DevJam
I split my time between leading DevJam and coaching at client sites. My coaching ranges from small teams to large enterprises and entails working with teams, programs and leadership groups. Some days I am doing discovery work, teaching product thinking and agile design and augmenting real agility with user centered design and user experience tools. Other days I am deep in the delivery space helping teams adapt agile methods to meet their needs within their context, working on lean planning, test driven and the many other tools that help teams learn from delivery. | | I also work with many leadership groups, helping them use the evidence produced by agile methods to answer the difficult questions they face while trying to pivot towards the most real value for their company and their products. I am pragmatically focused on producing evidence of success, and I have very little concern about how people are "doing the process" and instead steer people towards "how well they are doing" with process as a tool and not a goal. | | Back at home, at DevJam Studios, we coach, teach and build software products. Working in domains like digital biometrics, medical, government, legal, security, financial, retail, and education (to name a few) has grown a substantial pragmatism around using agile methods as tools focused on product and business goals. Whether we are building our own products, building products for others, or coaching companies of all sizes and shapes around the globe, we believe that producing products which help others, and helping others to learn to better produce products are the real and valuable goals we want to achieve. | | If you are looking for more information about DevJam coaching, education or product development, check out our website...
